The SMJ-180A automatic cotton inserter machine feeds, cuts and inserts pharmaceutical-grade cotton into bottles at speeds of 20–100 bottles per minute. Designed for tablet, capsule and nutraceutical bottling lines, it helps reduce product movement and breakage during handling and transportation.
Its Siemens PLC control, “no bottle, no cotton” detection and adjustable insertion settings provide consistent operation across round, square, oval and flat bottles with diameters from 20 to 100 mm.

Precise Cotton Feeding and Cutting
A high-torque stepper motor precisely controls the cotton feeding length, while the cutting mechanism produces consistent cotton sections for reliable insertion into every bottle.
Siemens PLC and HMI Control
Operators can adjust production speed, cotton length and operating parameters through the color touchscreen. Stored settings help shorten changeover time between different bottle formats.
Sensor detection
Photoelectric sensors detect bottle presence before each insertion cycle, preventing empty operation, reducing cotton waste and improving production reliability.
Adjustable Insertion Depth
The insertion mechanism can be adjusted according to bottle height, neck opening and available headspace to achieve stable and consistent cotton placement.
